The Versiliana festival takes place every summer in the Versiliana park with prose, ballet and music performances, which are joined by meetings with famous personalities, exhibitions, children's space.
The Versiliana park is a large patch of pines and oaks near the coast of Fiumetto. At the Villa (19th century) the "La Versiliana" Festival takes place during the summer with performances of prose, ballet and music, which are joined by meetings with well-known personalities, exhibitions, children's space.
If "Versilia never left the blood" by Gabriele D'Annunzio, much is due to "La Versiliana", where the poet was a guest in the early '900 and from which, November 30, 1906, wrote, with polemical tone, the dedicatory letter of "More than love". The famous Villa was built in 1886, as evidenced by an inscription dictated by Renato Fucini and still existing in the atrium. It was an elegant home of the counts Digerini-Nuti, amidst the greenery of a luxuriant pine forest a short distance from the sea. From its ancient spot, granted in emphyteusis to the Community for six generations, in 1772, there are currently eighty eight hectares, against the original one hundred and ten, due to the 1957 subdivision: a speculative move that was stopped in time, thus avoiding to seriously compromise the existence of the magnificent Natural Park (a healthy and relaxing oasis, characterized by the presence of the domestic pine introduced in the seventeenth century, with holm oak undergrowth). In 1979 the Municipal Administration led by Professor Rolando Cecchi Pandolfini, with the help of the well-known pediatrician Gaetano Pasquinucci, deals with the heirs Nuti Mattioli the purchase of the park (90 hectares of green) and the Villa La Versiliana.
Here in 1980 the Versilia coast is enriched by a new cultural space: the pine forest is no longer just a big green lung, but a new way of spending holidays in Versilia. An extensive program of cultural events takes place inside the park, which will be enriched with new ideas every year. In a natural clearing the open-air theater is hosted, about 1400 seats. Next to this, there is a space-Cafe (Caffè concerto, Caffè literario) which immediately becomes a meeting point and a meeting point with the actors, the literati, the men of culture who animate the Versilia summer.
