WHO WE ARE
Grandpa, tour and the latest arrival
Welcome to the future
Let us tell you a story, the story of a man who did not compromise and looked for the perfect place to give life to a place where he would welcome and share with old and new friends. This man was grandpa Bixio and the place is the piece of land on which our hotel stands today and to which he wanted to give his name.
But let's start at the beginning.
Grandpa Bixio had already opened 3 hotels, one even in the prestigious Forte dei Marmi, in the square at the center, but he was not satisfied, something fundamental was missing for him, the view of the sea.
He then decided to sell everything and drove his truck in search of the perfect place until he arrived at the land on which the hotel stands today.
Despite everyone’s criticism and skepticism, he immediately understood that this piece of land was waiting for him, it was the perfect place, what he was looking for, right there in front of the sea.

Thus, he opened his restaurant with rooms and so the history that still sees our family committed to carrying on his legacy with the same passion and tenacity began.
The hotel was officially opened in May 1958 and in that same month the most famous cyclists in Italy and the world, who were competing in the Giro d’Italia race, made a stop right in Versilia. Grandpa Bixio did not think twice about it before picking up the telephone, which, he had installed in every room as a true innovator, and called the editorial staff of Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

As a simple but sharp man, he devised what we today would call a perfect tourism marketing strategy by raffling off a one-week, full-board beach holiday to the last place finisher along with his entire family. So, despite the defeat, that cyclist saw his effort rewarded.
